La Cala de Mijas is a wonderful place to visit for a vacation. The translation is simply "Mijas Bay," and it has all the facilities of a typical Andalusian fishing community, as well as a long stretch of golden sand beaches. There are several eateries of all types, giving the area a multicultural flavor. Parents may take their children to the La Cala park, which features a little café in the center where they can relax while their children play securely nearby.
During the summer, the park frequently hosts family-friendly events such as face painting, games, and bouncy castles. Every Wednesday and Saturday, a huge market is held in the fairground, and a coastal market is conducted in July and August. A Medieval Market is held in the main plaza for a week in August, including food, music, artisan stalls, and children's activities.
To truly understand what life is like in La Cala de Mijas, you must live there. Fortunately, there are plenty of affordable and desirable Costa del Sol properties for sale throughout the town and its outskirts, ranging from new-build apartments to more traditional Spanish-style flats and townhouses, as well as luxurious detached villas.
Once you've chosen a place to call home, the town offers everything you'll need, including huge supermarkets, a weekly market, sports facilities, an immense beach, easy access to both ends of the Costa del Sol, a variety of bars and restaurants, and a variety of stores, including 24-hour pharmacies.
La Cala de Mijas has a moderately significant business center that along the beach road on its northern side, just a few feet from the center. Further interior, the landscape's terrain changes dramatically: a short drive past the football stadium takes you through a thin swath of woods and out onto undulating countryside. The far mountain range blocks the horizon, while the nearside views are all of rolling hills and individual farmhouses.
Memorable evenings out are conveniently near by with Fuengirola just a short drive away, but La Cala de Mijas also provides plenty of alternatives for those who want to stay close to home.
