Mijas Costa is a one-of-a-kind destination that appeals to both vacationers and property purchasers. The region begins in Fuengirola and extends along the Mediterranean coast to the Cabopino resort in Marbella East. Calahonda, Riviera del Sol, and La Cala de Mijas are only a few of the smaller villages or vacation resort locations ("urbanizations") along this length of coastline. Because of their ideal geographical location, each place along the stretch of Mijas Costa is intriguing. Each location is only a few minutes' walk from the beach, with some even being directly on the beach; all services, including pharmacies, grocery shops, restaurants, clubs, and sports bars, are all within walking distance.
Calahonda, the first area along the Costa Mijas, stretches over twelve kilometers and has twelve beaches. Moving east, Calypso, Riviera del Sol, Miraflores, and Torrenueva, followed by La Cala de Mijas, another busy bar and restaurant area. Los Claveles, El Chaparral, Los Farolas, El Faro, Calaburras, La Costa, and La Ponderosa all have rocky inland urbanizaciones (housing zones). The whitewashed rural pueblos of Mijas, Coín, and Alhaurn el Grande are all within a 15-minute drive of Marbella. With water slides, wave pools, and play islands, the Parque Acuatico Mijas (Mijas Water Park) is a kid's favorite. Bioparc Fuengirola is a well-known zoo in Fuengirola with cages that are as near to the animals' natural environment as possible.
There are lots of brand new, off-plot flats in serviced buildings, or you could choose an apartment in a gated community if you want more solitude. The majority of the region is made up of modern apartment towers, but there are also townhouses, villas, and timeshares for sale in Calahonda.
